ONLINE CLASSES

Professional Leadership Development

This 8-week course helps ABE students with work experience in the U.S. or abroad acquire the skills necessary to transition into leadership roles. Through class discussions and collaborative learning, students will learn about leadership styles, effective feedback techniques, employee training methods, networking skills, resume writing, and improve their presentation skills. In-house certificates will be awarded to students who complete the class.

Mondays, Sept. 22 - Nov. 24 (8 sessions), 6-8 p.m., FREE.


Google Apps for Education

This class enables students to enhance their digital literacy as they prepare for enrollment in postsecondary education or begin a career pathway. Students will apply these skills while learning the basics of Gmail, creating and managing files in Google Drive, and utilizing Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs to create files. Students enrolled in this class will learn skills that can be applied in any career field they choose to work in. In-house certificates will be awarded to students who complete the class.

Fridays, Sep. 26 - Nov. 21 (8 sessions, skip Oct. 17), 8:30-11:30 a.m., FREE.


English for Driving

This class is designed to prepare students to pass the written driver’s permit exam. This can be the first step in the career pathway to obtain a CDL license.

Child Development

This course will help students explore the principles of early child development and early childhood career options, as well as provide health and safety information. Content will include early childhood developmental milestones, health, and safety. Students will get an opportunity to explore early childhood careers through lecture, discussion, and guest speakers. In-house certificates will be awarded to students who complete the class.

Students will also complete First Aid/CPR/BBP certification. This will be offered in person at local sites as a follow up to child development.
